Gains from SAFTA

In my view, Bangladesh is not going to gain much from SAFTA because we do not have the proper infrastructure. In order to gain we should have to establish minimum 50 EPZ, minimum 5 automobile industries, electronic goods industries, agriculture farming, and minimum 64 public universities. However, from SAFTA, India and Pakistan will gain more than Bangladesh. India already has the required infrastructure, and Pakistan is also developing its infrastructure at a faster rate than us. So, our first target should be to develop our infrastructures. I think globalisation through multilateral negotiations is a better option than regionalism for our trade to expand.
